IS200EXAMG1B is a General Electric EXAM Exciter Attenuator Module for GE EX2100 excitation control systems. In the EX2100 auxiliary cabinet, the EXAM attenuator module contains a sense resistor and returns the field ground detector signal to the EGDM module over a single, nine-conductor cable that carries both control and sense signals.
The GEH-6632G EX2100 user guide describes the EXAM as receiving its signal from EGDM and applying a low-frequency square-wave signal within the detector circuit; in a redundant system, the test signal can be switched under controller C control. For maintenance, repair, and spare-part planning, IS200EXAMG1B is an important replacement attenuator module when supporting EX2100 excitation control cabinets, redundant or simplex control architectures, and turbine-generator excitation system reliability.
